Kids car seat safety in New Zealand

If you’re not sure where to start when it comes to kids’ car seats, begin by contacting one of over 250 certified Child Restraint Technicians throughout the country that have been accredited by the NZ Transport Agency (NZTA).

As well as offering advice, they also have the practical knowledge to correctly fit your child restraint into a vehicle and show you how to do it too.

NZTA’s inactive map will help you find a qualified Technician in your area.

Under New Zealand law, all children under 5 years old must use a child car restraint that is appropriate for their weight and size. However to be effective, a restraint must be the right size for your child and used correctly.
